Killer Kane catches her and starts to strangle her. The police are waiting outside, and Killer Kane is taken back to prison and has to serve his original sentence plus ten years. This is a sequel to Freak the Mighty, but reader's do not have to read Freak the Mighty to understand and enjoy this book. I thought the predecessor, Freak the Mighty, ended the story pretty well.
